One push and the sound of rushing air the noise that brings me so much joy. I stand up and close my room door entering another realm as my screen lights up for every single window I’ve opened. 14 yr old me getting the joy of every single notification on my screen. “Hello Tom , it’s me ya girl !” As I sit Indian style kitchen chair that I stole from the dining room jammed so close to my computer desk I have no wiggle room . Pop punk music blasting swapping from MySpace to VampireFreaks coding into html like I’m a criminal trying to hack into the World Wide Web. The joy I get watching my pages enhance the thrill of floating fonts. Having like the coolest page ever that nobody has as I cross my arms watch the fonts sprinkle down as A day to remember plays on my page. That feeling never left me but as I grew older it was faded memories. MySpace was out and Facebook was in and my days of creating layouts were over . Bring me into my 20s and I met the man of my dreams whom come to find out was career driven into what started the spark in some of us but continued to let it grow. Like most people who actually enjoy their significant other I would pick his brain and mess with his work. My thrive to learn coding stems so deep into the basic love and being the generation that technology was taking off . I want to take in so much and starting school I’ve found that little sparkle of joy I once had as a child learning coding and hoping to make a career that would make that child so happy in me knowing I might not be some cool hacker living in some machine pulling a Robinhood (only because I don’t think I could handle jail). But if asked what was the reason for pursing software engineering it would be because of all this that spark , wanting to learn more and pushing myself toward a brighter future. I won’t be as cool as Tom was putting himself as number one on all of our pages but I thrive to have maybe just a bit of sass he got for creating something that some of us grew up with . And if you’re reading this and stumped on what MySpace was or even VampireFreaks is just know it was never just a phase! Because I’m here trying to set a career path in awesomeness and software engineering(insert the coolest emoji that’s trending )!
